Tom Schneider: The Amazing Donkey Bomber as a Two-Time WSOP Champion
Known for aggressively sounding nicknames like 'Killer' and 'Donkey Bomber,' Tom Schneider climbed his way to the top of the Annual World Series of Poker rankings after winning a couple of WSOP championship bracelets. Simultaneously, he also has 12 outstanding money finishes and career earnings of up to $831,077. More importantly, he also had an active part and a winning record in various WSOP Circuit Events, including total earnings of $158,317.
Schneider's WSOP debut came in 2002, when he competed in two very exciting events as part of the 33rd Annual World Series of Poker. At the $3,000 Pot-Limit Holdem poker tournament, he had a very impressive performance by finishing at fourth place to win a nice prize of $29,600. Meanwhile, he also played at the high-stakes $10,000 No-Limit Holdem World Championship event, where he won $30,000 for his 36th place performance. In 2003, he joined only one event at the 34th Annual World Series of Poker, specifically the $3,000 Pot-Limit Holdem event, where he placed 14th overall for the prize of $6,080.
After Schneider competed in a couple of WSOP Circuit Events in 2005 and 2006, he also played in the $1,500 Limit Holdem Shootout poker tournament of the 37th Annual World Series of Poker. From this event, he captured fifth place overall to win a considerable prize of $28,610. In the 2007 season, Schneider played in three separate events, including the $2,500 Omaha/Seven-Card Stud Hi-Low-8 or Better, where he won his very first WSOP championship title as well as the top prize amounting to $214,347. The second event was the $2,500 H.O.R.S.E. poker tournament, where he snatched fourth place for a considerable prize of $54,769. Finally, he also competed at the $1,000 Seven-Card Stud Hi-Low-8 or Better, which he also won for his second WSOP championship bracelet in a single season. Aside from the title and the prestige, he also took home the grand pot for the event, which was valued at $147,713.
With all the luck that he achieved in the previous season, Schneider tried to build some sort of momentum on his way to the 2008 season, where he played in five separate events. At the $10,000 World Championship Mixed Event of the 39th Annual World Series of Poker, he placed 12th overall to win a prize amounting to $36,096. In the meantime, he scored a 64th place finish at the $1,500 Limit Holdem Event 12 to win $3,243. In the succeeding event, Schneider grabbed the fifth place at the $5,000 No-Limit 2-7 Draw Lowball with Rebuys event to earn the handsome amount of $104,101. At the H.O.R.S.E. poker tournament, he finished 20th overall to take home $7,998. Finally, he made a 12th place exit at the $1,500 Seven Card Razz to win $10,203. Based on these wonderful performances, Schneider does own one of the most impressive and highly successful records in WSOP history.
