The Sequence of the Texas Holdem Game The first betting session begins with each player betting based on the strength of his own two cards. No community card has been exposed yet, so the player has the chance to continue or fold depending on his technique or interpretation. A player who folds has quitted the entire game. After the betting session has ended, the dealer exposes the first three community cards. A lucky player might have formed a five-card combination at this point. Players are allowed to fold at each betting session.

A next betting session is now in order, and when it has ended, the dealer is set to expose the fourth card. Another betting session begins until the fifth and last card is exposed, leaving the remaining players to wager money again. When the betting session has ended and there is more than one player on the table, they are required to do a showdown to determine who will win. If, the other players have folded leaving behind a single player to continue the game, then the latter has won.
